Above and Beyond Writing Collaboration

Hypertext Magazine & Studio collaborated with Chicago’s Above & Beyond Family Recovery Center to bring writing workshops to their clients. This poem is a result of that collaboration.

Dear Malcolm,

I hope all is well with you. You had just started a new job—very exciting. The last time I saw you I gave you the Divine book. I knew it would give you a chuckle.

So much has happened in my life since then. I feel as though I am reaching out from another country—a far-away place. I suppose I really am.
