  • Since 2017, essayists published in Hypertext Review have received Notable mentions from Best American Essays: Marcia Aldrich for her essay “Wallpaper: A Parable," Desiree Cooper for her essay “We Have Lost Too Many Wigs," and Bridget Boland for "Spectator Mourning."
  • Susanne Clores & Hypertext Review were awarded a 2020 Illinois Arts Council Literary Award for her essay “The Second Sight.”
  • Hypertext has received partial funding from the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), Illinois Humanities, and National Endowment for the Arts. We are incredibly grateful for this support.
  • Since 2010, Hypertext has published over 1300 emerging and established writers.
  • Since 2017, we have taught over 300 community members writing skills and published our social service students in Hypertext Review Fall 2019. The pandemic impacted our teaching programming but we hope to resume teaching writing workshops in collaboration with our Chicago nonprofit partners in 2023.
  • We published our first biannual print journal, Hypertext Review, in 2017. 
  • Google Analytics reports we receive over 40,000 unique viewers and 340K total impressions annually.
